Top 15 FAQ's About Boudoir Photography

ONE: What’s boudoir photography?

Boudoir photography means something different for every woman. That's why we kick off each session by asking, "What's your reason or purpose for wanting a boudoir session?"

Whether you're doing a boudoir session to embrace your body, explore your sexuality, push past limiting beliefs, overcome sexual trauma, celebrate milestones (bridal boudoir, for example), or just treat yourself, we've got your back.  Our studio is a judgment-free zone where every shape, size, background, and identity is celebrated!

TWO: What’s included in a boudoir session?

Your boudoir session is a luxury experience! Here's what you can expect:

  • Pre-consultation call: Let's vibe together and chat about your "why." We'll make sure we're on the same page before diving in.
  • Planning call: We'll design your perfect session together, ensuring every detail reflects your unique style and vibe.
  • Professional hair and makeup: Sit back and relax as our team enhances your natural beauty.
  • Access to our client closet: Choose from over 600 pieces in sizes XS-6X to find the perfect look for you!
  • Fully-directed posing: No need to worry about how to pose. We've got you covered from head to toe!
  • Same-day image viewing: We know you're excited to see your photos, so we'll share them with you the same day, adding to the excitement and anticipation!

THREE: Is professional hair and makeup included?

Absolutely! Pro hair and makeup services are always included in your session. We want you to feel pampered from the moment you walk through our doors.

We know that trusting a new stylist can be nerve-wracking, so if you have any hesitations, let's chat about it!

FOUR: Do I have to wear lingerie for my boudoir photos?

Absolutely not! Lingerie can add a touch of glamour to your session, but it's not a requirement. Wear what makes you feel sexy, confident, and comfortable.

Here are a few of our favorite lingerie alternatives:

  • Big off-the-shoulder shirts or cozy sweaters
  • Loose or form-fitting tank tops
  • Stylish crop tops
  • One-piece teddies or rompers

** The only things we DON’T photograph are costumes and props.

FIVE: Do I need to bring my own lingerie?

Nope! While you're welcome to bring your own lingerie, you'll also have full access to our client closet. It’s stocked with over 600 stunning pieces in multiple colors, styles, and sizes ranging from XS to 6X.

If you need some inspiration for your session, we've got you covered with these resources below:

SIX: How many outfit changes do I get?

We suggest 2-3 outfits to maximize your time and variety in your photos. Many clients also opt for some nude shots as they become more comfortable throughout the session. So, keep it to 2-3 outfits max.

seven: How long is a typical boudoir photoshoot?

Your session will take 3-4 hours from start to finish.

Here's a rough timeline to give you an idea of what to expect:

  • Welcome and Hair/Makeup: As soon as you arrive, we'll welcome you in, get you comfortable, and settled in for hair and makeup. While that’s going on, I’ll personally pick out lingerie pieces and bring them to you for approval. Total time is usually 1 ½ hours.
  • Shooting Time: Now comes the fun part! We'll spend around 60 minutes capturing breathtaking photos that showcase your beauty and confidence.
  • Image Viewing: After the shoot, it's time to see your gorgeous photos and choose your favorites! This process typically takes about 45 minutes to 1 ½ hours, depending on how decisive you are. We'll never rush you to make decisions, and it's totally okay if your favorite shots differ from ours. After all, you view your body differently than we do, and that’s 100% fine!

TEN: Do you share my images?

Your privacy and safety is always important to us. So this is always up to you! We will ask in our questionnaire if you will allow us to share them, but you are never required!

ELEVEN: How much does a boudoir photoshoot cost?

Since it's a luxury experience, the cost can vary depending on the package you choose. On average, our clients typically invest between $2500 to $8000.

The wide range is because our packages vary, from digital-only options to packages that include both digital and luxurious printed items. So, there's flexibility to suit your preferences and budget.

TWELVE: Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! We want to make sure our services are accessible to everyone, so we offer interest-free financing through pre-payment plans right here in-house. We also accept PayPal Credit and all major credit/debit cards for your convenience.

Just a heads up, though: payment must be made in full by the day of your session. We don't offer in-house post-session payment plans.

If you have any questions, we’re happy to chat with you about your options.

THIRTEEN: Do you offer digital files and printed photo products?

We offer both! Digital files are convenient, and we want to make sure we’re keeping up with the times and trends - while also making life easy for ya!
